A ground-breaking initiative aims to provide students with a unique insight into the construction industry, inspiring and equipping them for future success.

At the core of AWIC On Tour is our commitment to offering immersive experiences that go beyond the traditional classroom setting. Through industry-led site visits, factory tours, showroom information sessions, and other out-of-the-box opportunities, AWIC showcases the endless possibilities and opportunities within the construction industry.

AWIC On Tour brings work to life, spark curiosity, ignite passion, and create an understanding of the construction industry’s potential for a career among the next generation of leaders.

Talk to all Rookies about respect, inclusion, and diversity in the workplace. Followed by a Women in Trade morning tea and industry panel discussion.

Talk to all Rookies about respect, inclusion, and diversity in the workplace. Followed by a Women in Trade morning tea and industry panel discussion.

Friday 13th March
AWIC International Women’s Day Lunch (Brisbane)

Invite up to 25 students participating in school-based apprenticeship/internship, Full time apprentices and high school students studying construction-based subjects.

Outcome: To show young ladies looking to enter or who have entered the construction industry that there are like minded women and men, to support their journey

Sydney Build Expo, ICC Sydney

Australia’s largest construction & design show features: 28,000+ attendees, 750+ speakers across 15 stages, 700+ exhibitors, networking parties, Government Hub, Architect’s Hub, live music, entertainment, DJs, celebrity guests and more!

Capricorn Mega Careers Expo 

Industry is invited to join AWIC at our stand and engage with high school students from across the region.

Friday 15th
Site Tour – QMAG (Queensland Magnesia)

Industry welcome to attend and share insights into career pathways and real-world experiences.

Monday 18th
Site Tour – Rockhampton Ring Road South

Industry welcome to attend and engage with students and educators.

Tuesday 19th
School Engagement Session – Rockhampton Girls Grammar School

Engagement with Years 10, 11 and 12 students, including panel discussions and activities focused on career pathways in construction.

Wednesday 20th
Team Collaboration & Content Creation Day

The team will regroup to review the week’s activities, coordinate social media coverage, and create content capturing highlights and key moments from the program.

Thursday 21st
Rockhampton Exploration & Networking

Participants will spend the day exploring Rockhampton, visiting local attractions, and enjoying opportunities for informal networking and connection.

Friday 22nd
School Engagement Session – Yeppoon State High School

Students from Yeppoon SHS and St Ursula’s College will participate in hands-on activities followed by an industry panel discussion.

Friday 24th
Bray Park Careers Day (Moreton Bay)

An annual event at Bray Park State High School (BPSHS) where students (Years 10-12) connect with industry professionals, universities, and TAFEs to explore career paths, featuring guest speakers, interactive stalls, workshops, and demonstrations, with recent events showcasing diverse industries like trades, finance, and heavy vehicles, and even unique experiences like drone flying or cooking.
