YOU’RE INVITED

AWIC invites you to join us for our sixth annual International Women’s Day Lunch on March 10, to recognise and celebrate all the awesome women in our community!

It’s also a chance for us to celebrate Women In Construction Week (Mar 6-12), and the contributions women make to one of Australia’s most important and fast-growing industries!

Guests will enjoy a delicious two course lunch, drinks, and the infamous Moore Australia lolly bar, while hearing from awesome keynote speaker Karen Jacobsen, aka The GPS Girl!

Every year International Women’s Day is celebrated around the world on March 8, and is a day to recognise women’s achievements, reflect on progress, and call for change in support of women’s rights and overcoming the barriers that perpetuate gender inequality.

KEYNOTE SPEAKER

Karen Jacobsen

Karen Jacobsen is an award winning Singer and Songwriter, Author of two books, and Harry Connick Jr once called her “hypnotic” on his national talk show! But you perhaps know her best for her voice – heard in over a billion devices giving GPS directions and as the original Australian “Siri”!  Karen’s keynote presentation “Recalculate – Directions for Driving Performance Success” is an experience designed to support leaders in navigating change powerfully and making effective decisions.

Kristina has been a valued member and committee member of AWIC for many years and in 2022 became Chairperson of AWIC! We can’t wait to see what this year has in store for Kristina, and we are looking forward to hearing from her as our awesome event emcee!

As Brand and Corporate Manager, Kristina brings an intuitive and innovative approach to Alder Constructions’ marketing systems and commercial strategies, and is passionate about advocating for women in the industry.

“As a leader within our organisation, my passion to create a more diverse, inclusive and balanced workplace has cultivated an environment where gender barriers are removed and women in construction are supported, promoted and valued. This translates to a more ‘humanised’ workplace and supports the corporate responsibilities we hold high.”
