You build. We connect.
The future of construction is female.
At Awesome Women in Construction, or AWIC, we are a not for profit association, providing a supportive community for women working in the construction industry. Assisting with providing personal and professional development and confidence building opportunities, we strive to build the brands of the organisations these women represent.
Our members represent small independent businesses right through to global organisations and they work for multi-national corporations and state-based building companies.
Our vision is to have women leading, driving and supporting the growth of the construction industry.
We’re about supporting, nurturing and providing women in the construction industry an environment to network and support like minded colleagues. We provide a variety of networking opportunities for everyone to get involved.
“PGH Bricks & Pavers has supported AWIC from its inception as it recognises the important and ever increasing role women in the industry play. ““BlueScope are proud supporters of AWIC and their work to help women thrive in the residential construction industry. I was one of the lucky few who attended the very first meeting and enjoy the ongoing informal, supportive networking events with other women in this sector. AWIC are changing the game through their fantastic initiative and I’d like to personally thank Amanda Bulow for creating this space for our community.”
“Hardings is a proud supporter of the AWIC organisation, we believe that the values and purpose provided by AWIC are inline with those of our own business. At Hardings we believe that gender equality is not only the right thing to do, but it is an important way we can empower our people and build a diverse and inclusive workplace – where everyone, regardless of gender, has the opportunity to achieve their potential and meet the needs of life outside of work. So if we want to see equality between men and women in our lifetimes, then we need to take bold action! The benefits offered by AWIC allow for our staff to network with others within the same industry in an inclusive environment who openly share their experiences and support each other.
“At Moore Stephens we are always on the lookout for opportunities to network with industry groups in our local community. AWIC caught our attention some months ago and from the first meeting we were impressed with the cohesiveness of this group of women who are leading, driving and supporting growth in the construction industry. As an accounting and business advisory firm that specialises in the construction industry, we recently offered to sponsor an event at our Brisbane CBD premises. The event was well attended and some very active conversation took place during the evening. Our team thoroughly enjoyed the event both as hosts and participants. We recommend that other members of AWIC sponsor a future event which will help to raise the profile of your business and introduce your team to this ‘awesome’ group of motivated women.
