Machinists are responsible for the programming and operation of the computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine to produce precision parts and instruments used for engineering and manufacturing. Using CNC machine tools, the CNC Machinist will manage cutting, drilling, and finishing the in-house made components.

Responsibilities:
1. Manufacture and modifying high quality components
2. Carrying out engineering requests that support the development and manufacture of jigs, fixtures, and specialised tooling, ensuring tooling is always in compliance to industry standards
3. Ensuring good manufacturing practice always applies whilst providing ongoing maintenance and organization of toolroom equipment
4. Collaborate with engineers to develop and document activities
5. Ensure all services are performed in a safe manner and follow WHS procedure

Skills & Experinece:
Experience using power tools, hand tools, and calibrated tooling
Exceptional time management, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to generate toolpaths using CAM software
Experience using CAD software
Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a fast-paced, challenging work environment
Work efficiently in a team environment

Study Pathway:
Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade
